State attorneys general open probe into Instagram’s effect on kids -Breaking

REUTERS/Thomas WhiteWASHINGTON (Reuters] – A bipartisan coalition of state attorney generals has launched a probe into Facebook (NASDAQ) for promoting its subsidiary Instagram, now called Meta Platforms. This investigation focuses on potential harms to the children, according to the New York office of the Attorney General in a Thursday statement.
At least 8 states are involved in the investigation. This comes just as Facebook’s approach to young and children is being scrutinized.
Attorneys general stated that they were investigating whether the company had violated consumer protection laws or put young people at risk.
