CVS HealthThursday’s announcement by the company indicated that approximately 900 of its stores will be closed over three years to accommodate online shoppers.

A news release from the chain of drugstores and health-care companies stated that digital growth will drive more business and transform its stores into locations that offer various medical services.

Spring 2022 will see the first store closures. According to the company, it expects to close approximately 300 stores per year. The closings would affect approximately 9% of CVS’ roughly 10,000 U.S. locations.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned for new updates.
