Bank of Mexico concerned about facing inflation, Fed normalization at same time -Breaking

MEXICO CITY, (Reuters) – Alejandro Diaz de Leon, Governor of the Bank of Mexico said Friday that it would be difficult for them to confront the inflationary problem and normalize U.S. monetary policies in a vigorous and simultaneous fashion.

The Mexican Consumer Price Index rose by 6.24% during the year to October. This was twice the Bank of Mexico’s inflation target of 3.3% plus/minus 1. percentage points. On November 11, the Bank of Mexico raised the benchmark interest rate 25 basis points for its fourth consecutive policy meeting.
