LAGOS, (Reuters) – Nigeria’s economy could grow by 2.6% this fiscal year as a result of a moderate recovery following last year’s recession.
Although the fund had stated it would likely revise its growth forecast for 2021 to 1.5%, the fund said that recovery rates were still very slow due to Nigeria’s increasing population.
It stated that this was just below the rate of population growth, which implies stagnant per-capita income over the medium term.
