Oscar-winning costume designer Emi Wada dies aged 84 -reports -Breaking

TOKYO (Reuters), Emi Wada, a Japanese costume designer, has died at age 84. Emi was nominated for Akira Kurosawa and Ran’s costumes in 1985.
Wada, who died Nov. 13, was buried with close friends and family, the reports say. There were no citations for a cause.
Wada was born in Kyoto and began her career while still studying at Kyoto City University of Arts. Her costumes were also used in theatres and ballet productions.
Wada worked alongside Kurosawa to design costumes for numerous international movies, such as Peter Greenaway’s “Prospero’s Books” (1991), Zhang Yimou’s “Hero” (2002) and the House of Flying Daggers (2004).
She worked in her 80s creating costumes and props for Ann Hui’s film “Love After Love”, which was premiered at Venice International Film Festival 2020.
