Peng Shuai appears at China tennis event, organiser photos show -Breaking

SHANGHAI (Reuters – Chinese tennis superstar Peng Shuai was in Beijing for a Sunday tournament, according to the official photos of the tournament.

According to pictures posted on WeChat’s event page, Peng is seen wearing dark blue and white clothes among the guests of the Fila Kids Junior Tennis Challenger.

Since Nov. 2, when she claimed on Chinese social media that Zhang Gaoli, her former vice-premier, had forced her to have sex with him and the two had a consensual relationship.

Zhang and the Chinese government didn’t comment on her claim. Peng quickly removed her post on social media and the subject has been taken off of China’s tightly censored Internet.

The Women’s Tennis Association threatened to cancel tournaments in China after international tennis organizations expressed concerns. Britain and the United States have asked for proof of Peng’s safety and whereabouts.
