SportsIcon, for example, is built using the Flow blockchain and a native utility token named ICONS. It also has the strong backing of DapperLabs — the driving force of NBA Top Shot. It is also funded by the famous rapper, Nas, and former NBA players like Andrew Bogut, Eniac Ventures’ partner, Nihal Mehta, and others. SportsIcon is also a partner with Mike Vick and Romelu Lukaku.
SportsIcon is proud to have achieved many milestones since its conception. SportsIcon Lion Club NFT, is perhaps the best-known. The project, which is PFP based on 9000 unique Lions has sold out in 14 hours and generated over 1.4M USD in Ethereum sales. It was also noted that the team had made additional comments about this:
“This project is designed to bring even more fans into the online sporting community with real utility, such as tickets for soccer games, NBA, NFL and more. As well as digital utility in the form of Q&A from legendary athletes exclusively for our members, and the chance to meet the sporting icons in person.”
The team also stated that it plans to collaborate with more clubs and athletes from around the globe to create a network of fans using its NFTs with utility. SportsIcon, in fact, is preparing for its IDO launch at the beginning of the fourth quarter. The world will soon know what SportsIcon can do to provide NFT utility at the next level for everyone after that.
As we continue building out our world-class team and soon expanding into the metaverse, we will also be doing so. Ultimately, we want to make NFTs accessible to everyone — traditional crypto users and non-traditional.
SportsIcon raised $5 million from the top crypto and tech investors. They join existing investors Nas, an acclaimed rapper and investor in tech, Andrew Bogut, Roham Gharegozlou and Nihal Mehta from Eniac Ventures. Mike Edwards is Argo Blockchain. Anand Agarawala founded Spatial. Andrew Masanto, Hedera Hashgraph, and Pet Lab Co. are also part of this partnership. Chad Hurley was the former CEO and founder of YouTube.
Although this milestone is significant, this platform sees this project only as the beginning. The platform will provide exclusive programs for NFT token and token holders to give them real-world and virtual utility.
