GoDaddy security breach exposes WordPress users’ data -Breaking

(Reuters) – Web hosting company GoDaddy Inc (NYSE:) Inc stated Monday that email addresses up to 1.2 Million active Managed WordPress customers were exposed by an unauthorized third party access.

According to the company, the breach was detected on September 6th and that the third party accessed the system with a compromised password.

In a filing, Chief Information Security Officer Demetrius Coms stated that they had discovered suspicious activity within the Managed WordPress Hosting environment. They immediately started an investigation using an IT forensics company and contacted law enforcement.

The shares of the company fell by 1.6% during early trading.
