India stocks lower at close of trade; Nifty 50 down 1.96% -Breaking

India stocks are lower as of close to trade.

Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

NSE closed with the index declining 1.96% and the falling 1.96%, respectively.

These were the best performers of the session Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS): Traded at 742.10 after the close, up 3.88% or 27,75 points. Meanwhile, Asian Paints Ltd. JSW Steel Late trade saw Ltd (NS) rise 0.99%, or 6.45 points, to 657.00

They were also the session’s worst performers Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS) fell 5.80% or 426.65 point to close at 7058.30 Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. declined 7.75 points or 5.02% to finish at 146.55, while Bajaj Finserv Ltd. was down 4.73% (847.50 point) to 17073.75.

Bharti Airtel Ltd. rose 3.90%, to 742.05; Asian Paints Ltd. rose 1.14%, to settle at 3263.45; and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. gained 0.99% to end at 194.25.

Bajaj Finance Ltd.(BO:), which fell 5.74% to 706.65 in late trading, Bajaj Finserv Ltd. [BO:] which dropped 4.69% to settle to 17073.20, and Reliance Industries Ltd. (“BO:”) which declined 4.42% towards 2363.40 at closing.

By 1529 to 254, falling stocks outnumbered advancing on the India National Stock Exchange. 37 was left unchanged. On the Bombay Stock Exchange however, 249 fell while 883 advanced. 161 was left unchanged.

USD/INR was up 0.6% to 74.381. EUR/INR rose by 0.04% at 83.9445.

US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.7% at 96.097.
