AMSTERDAM, (Reuters) – The recent spike in inflation should not be a reason for the European Central Bank to rethink their interest rate policy. Inflation is expected to slow toward the end of next fiscal year, Klaas Knot, ECB policymaker, stated on Monday.

When inflation is higher than expected, the interest rate will go up. Knot stated that there is no evidence to support this at the moment in an interview on Dutch television station Nieuwsuur.
