Syn City Raised Over $8 Million From Tech Giants & VCs

SYN CITY is a free-to-play, F2P, NFT metaverse gaming platform that has attracted over $8M from top venture capital firms. The funding round was led by Twitch, Goat Capital, A&T Capital along with Hack VC, Animoca Brands, Spartan Group, Project Galaxy, Huobi Ventures, and others.

The blockchain gaming platform has provided gamers hundreds of interesting game ideas. SYN CITY is based on the popular Mafia concept. This is why the game has been called the Crypto Mafia Wars version.

“When I was the General Manager of Asia at Zynga (NASDAQ:), we witnessed the global phenomenon of Mafia Wars that influenced the whole generation,”
Robin Chan, general partner of Goat Capital

“I think the metaverse that SYN CITY is building is super exciting and it may lead the paradigm shift of the mafia metaverse.”
It is worth noting – Roy Liu, former head of business and marketing at TRON, is the co-founder of SYN CITY. Tech enthusiasts have worked previously with Disney, Ubisoft and Roblox as well as EA, Gameloft (NASDAQ:) and Twitter (NYSE:). Following the success of the P2E model, the game’s developers brought in a Mafia metaverse that bridges the gap between real-world NFT utilities and DeFi functions. The game is free to play-to-earn, and everyone can access it thanks to its state-of the-art gaming engine.

MAFIA Dao, the new NFT verse kid
Since Facebook’s rebranding, Meta (NASDAQ:), NFTs have gained significant popularity. SYN CITY is more affordable than existing popular games and may cause disruption to current games. MAFIA as-a-DAO (MaaD), which allows players create their own mafias or syndicates to earn and play, has been introduced to the game.

Roy Liu says

“Mafia and underworld syndicates is one of the few evergreen genres among all the entertainment products worldwide. To show our closeness and strong consensus, we call ourselves any mafia/syndicate in startup. After spending over ten years in gaming and over three years in crypto, it’s a no-brainer for me to combine the knowledge of the two and start my metaverse career building a mafia metaverse.”

SYN CITY rides the wave of disruption to existing costly blockchain games
Blockchain-based gaming is ripening quickly, but more gamers and enthusiasts are becoming interested in the sector. These metaverse projects may not be accessible to everyone, however. It is extremely expensive to get started in the Play-to-Earn metaverse. A gamer must invest $1000 in Axie in order to host a gaming session. Other blockchain games, such as MOBOX, are both pay-to play and earn (P2) so it can be expensive. SYN CITY however is available for free to everyone. It is a potential threat to all other blockchain-based games. With its Free-to Play model, it could revolutionize and disrupt these expensive games.

“It’s not fair to ask people to pay $1000 hard-earned money before they can play or earn from the game. This is the crypto era, and we want everyone to have an equal right to be able to play and earn,”
Roy Liu

“If Call Of Duty can become F2P, why can’t crypto games.”
Roy Liu added.

Internet 2.0 has brought about a boom in the lives of people all over the globe. Web 3.0, which allows for decentralization of centralized ecosystems and opens them up to the outside world, has emerged as an evolution of the Internet.
