Asia-Pacific stocks mixed; Bank of Korea interest rate decision ahead

SINGAPORE — Shares in Asia-Pacific were mixed in Thursday morning trade as investors in Asia look ahead to the Bank of Korea’s rate decision expected later today.

Japan is home to the Nikkei 225The Topix index rose 0.4%, and the gain was 0.6%.

South Korea KospiThe rate of change fell 0.11%. The Bank of Korea announces its interest rate decision at 9:00 HK/SIN.

Australian stocks fell with the S&P/ASX 200Falling by 0.11%

MSCI’s Asia-Pacific broadest index, which is not based on Japan, traded at 0.08% below.

Overnight stateside, the S&P 500 climbed 0.23% to 4,701.46 while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.44% to 15,845.23. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 9.42 points, to 35,804.38.

It Japanese yenIt traded at 115.42 USD, lower than its earlier levels against the greenback of below 114.5. The Australian dollarThe closing price was $0.7201 but it is still below the $0.724 levels seen in earlier trading sessions.
