Investing.com – Australia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

Polynovo Ltd. ASX: was among the top performers during the session. It rose 3.52%, or 0.050 point to trade at 1.470. Lend Lease Group (ASX) gained 3.23%, or 0.340 point to finish at 10.880. Beach Energy Ltd (ASX) was up 2.40% or 0.030 to 1.280 in late trading.

Technology One Ltd. (ASX:) fell 8.61%, or 1.08 points to trade close at 11.47. Netwealth Group Ltd (ASX) fell 5.56%, or 0.93 points, to finish at 15.81 Hub24 Ltd (ASX:) fell 5.09%, or 1.49 points, to 27.76

On the Sydney Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those in progress by 892 to 534. 376 was left unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 2.58% to 12.227.

The December delivery of Gold Futures was at a 0.50% increase or 9.0 to $1792.80 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil for January delivery rose 0.25 percent or 0.20, to reach $78.70 per barrel. The January Brent oil contract increased 0.13 or 0.16% to trade at $82.44 per barrel.

AUD/USD dropped 0.9% to 0.7214. AUD/JPY was at 82.90 by 0.35%.

At 96.523, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.03%.
