Canada rules Boeing out of C$19 billion fighter jet contract

OTTAWA (Reuters) – Canada has formally expelled Boeing (NYSE:) Co (multi-billion) from a contract for 88 new fighter planes. The Canadian Press reported on Thursday that this was based on industry and government sources.

The decision, if confirmed, would be only Lockheed Martin Corp (NYSE:) is the only remaining competitor. Ottawa states it will make a decision on next year’s contract, which could have a value of up to C$19billion ($15billion).
