Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

Frankfurt closed with the gain of 0.25, while the index rose 0.53%. The index also gained 1.14%.

RWE AG ST O.N. was the best performer of the session. (DE:), rose 6.32%, or 2.070 points, to trade at 34.830 by the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG E.ON SE (DE) gained 3.07%, or 0.73 point to close at 24.51. E.ON SE(DE) was up 2.9% or 0.321 to 11.082 late trade.

They were also the worst performers of the session. Delivery Hero AG (DE): The close was 113.70, down 3.89% (4.60 points). Zalando SE (DE:), fell 2.11%, or 1.69 points, to finish at 78.30. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST(DE:), was down 1.71% (or 0.950 points) to 54.670.

Carl Zeiss Meditec AG was tops on MDAX, rising 2.96% to 173.800. Nemetschek AG O.N. O.N. Fraport AG (DE:), which saw a 2.02% increase to 60.740.

AUTO1 SE (DE) was among the worst-performing, falling 2.29% to $25.60 in latetrade. Scout24 AG (DE:), which fell 2.03% to reach 59.740 Vantage Towers AG (DE:), which fell 1.73% at 29.53 by the end.

Jenoptik AG, DE: was among the top-performing companies on the TecDAX. It rose 7.94% and reached 35.080. Nordex SE O.N. (DE:), which rose 7.54% to settle on 16.550, and SMA Solar Technology AG(DE:), which gained 4.51% for 44.520.

Vantage Towers AG, DE: was the worst performer. It fell 1.73% to 29,53 in late trading. Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. Technology O.N.

By 373 to 314 and by 88, declining stocks were outnumbered on Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST(DE:) shares fell by 1.71%, or 0.950 to 53.670 AUTO1 GroupSE (DE:) shares fell by 2.29 percent or 0.60 to 25,60. Jenoptik AG shares (DE:), rose to 52-week peak; an increase of 7.94%, or 2.580 to 33.080.

The December delivery of Gold Futures was up 0.3% or 5.45 percent to $1789.75 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil fell 0.19 percent to $78.20 per barrel in January. The January Brent oil contract traded at $82.31 per barrel.

EUR/USD increased 0.12% to 1.1211 and EUR/GBP climbed 0.2% to 0.8414

At 96.757, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.12%.
