SubQuery Plans Acala Partnership, Boosting Polkadot’s Ecosystem
  • SubQuery will launch its network via the Acala parachain.
  • Acala also plans to make the network the first to launch an external app and token.

The crypto industry continues to expand its network in order to keep up with its space-based competitors. SubQuery (SQT), an industry leader in data indexing, has announced plans to launch its network using the Acala Parachain. Acala’s initial external applications and tokens will be launched by the network.

SubQuery’s CEO and founder, Sam Zou commented:

While we have big growth goals, Polkadot will remain our home. Acala is the most trusted DeFi platform in Polkadot. We are confident in their abilities to support us with our token launch as well as future projects such micropayments that indexers can make across multiple networks.

SubQuery and the Acala network collaborated because of their community access, technical excellence in domains, existing strong relationships, as well as other reasons. Furthermore, the Acala’s upcoming EVM+ launch is also a huge factor that caught the attention of SubQuery in joining hands with Acala.

Bette Chen, Co-Founder at Acala, explained it:

Acala is the DeFi hub for Polkadot. It acts as a landing zone that integrates assets from multiple blockchains and liquidity. It is a pleasure to work with SubQuery again and to launch on our platform the SQT token as well as SubQuery smart contracts.

In the future, the EVM compatible chain will enable SubQuery’s token generation event (TGE) to seamlessly allow investors’ participation into SQT from the ecosystem through Metamask. In addition, through Acala’s EVM+, users can even link their Ethereum addresses with their Polkadot addresses. This eliminates the need for multiple accounts.

Acala and SubQuery share the same vision of helping the Polkadot ecosystem grow and contribute to a more decentralized world. These two projects make a natural partnership, as they have had a trusting relationship since SubQuery’s inception. Recent hackathons were held by both networks in collaboration with Encode Club. Both network’s also operated Acala SubQuery projects, which allow for dynamic tracking of data on Acala/Kura.
