Uber to halt app in Brussels from Friday after court ruling -Breaking

AMSTERDAM, (Reuters) – Uber Technologies (NYSE.:) Inc. announced that it will cease operations in Brussels starting Nov. 26, after a court ruled professional drivers are also subject to the 2015 ban on taxi service providers.

Uber stated Wednesday’s decision of the Brussels Appeals Court will impact approximately 2,000 drivers and urged the Belgian government for swift changes to taxi law.
