Climate activists target Amazon depots in Britain on ‘Black Friday’ -Breaking

TILBURY (Reuters) – On “Black Friday”, climate activists targeted 15 Amazon (NASDAQ) stores across Britain as part of a demonstration against the ecommerce giant. The Extinction Rebellion group claimed that the protest exemplifies an obsessive consumption.

The group stated that Black Friday exemplifies an obsession with excessive consumption, which is inconsistent with the existence of a living planet.

According to it, Amazon and other companies similar have profited from our need for convenience and inflamed rampant consumerism that is detrimental to the environment.

An Reuters reporter was at the Amazon depot in Tilbury Docks, eastern England when he saw protesters blocking the entry.

These banners say: “Black Fridays exploits individuals and planet”, Amazon crime, and “Infinite growing, finite planet.”
