(Reuters) – No new COVID-19 variant cases have been detected in South Africa, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
World Health Organization (WHO), designated Omicron’s B.1.1.529 variation as “of concern,” making it the fifth variant to be considered as such.
“We anticipate Omicron will be identified quickly, if the U.S. emerges,” CDC stated in a statement.
