Tanzania reportedly makes plans to launch CBDC -Breaking

After similar announcements by neighboring countries, the Bank of Tanzania is said to be preparing to create a digital currency for central banks.
Bloomberg reports that Bank of Tanzania Governor Florens Loga was interviewed on Friday on Thursday that Tanzania was planning to follow Nigeria’s example in rolling out its own CBDC. Luoga reportedly said that the central bank had “already begun preparations” for a digital shilling, Tanzania’s currency since 1966.
