Star designer Virgil Abloh dies at 41 after private battle with cancer, LVMH says

After a long battle with cancer, designer Virgil Abloh has passed away. He was 41.

Abloh’s death was announced Sunday by the luxury group LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) and the Off White label, the brand Abloh founded. Louis Vuitton Men’s Wear Designer Abloh, was Abloh.

We are shocked by this horrible news. Bernard Arnault was chairman and chief executive officer of LVMH.

A statement by Abloh’s relatives on Abloh’s Instagram account stated that Abloh was fighting against cardiac angiosarcoma. It is a rare form cancer where a tumor develops in the heart.

The statement stated that “He decided to suffer his struggle privately after his 2019 diagnosis, undergoing many challenging treatments all while leading several important institutions that span fashion and art,”

Shannon Abloh, Abloh’s wife, and Grey Abloh (his children Lowe and Grey) are still with him.
