[ad_1]

Monday was Monday for President Joe Biden. He directed federal agencies that they be ready to quickly approve boosters or vaccines designed to guard against the new variant of the omicron coronavirus.

Current Covid vaccines provide protection against the highly mutated Omicron strain. Boosters are thought to increase that protection, as Biden stated in an address at the White House.

He said, “We are not convinced that any additional measures will be necessary.”

However, the President stated that his Administration is continuing to work with vaccine-makers Pfizer, ModernaAnd Johnson & JohnsonTo prepare contingency plans in case of emergency for the development of new vaccines and boosters.

Biden also stated that the White House directed both the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to go through the most efficient process to get these potential vaccines approved and on to the market.

This is important breaking news. Keep checking back for more updates.
