(Reuters) – Trans Mountain Canada said Monday that it is still days away from restarting its key oil pipeline, at a lower capacity due to heavy rains continuing to impede restoration efforts.
Canadian officials own the pipeline which transports 300,000 barrels per day of refined and crude products from Alberta to California. The pipeline was temporarily closed due to flooding and heavy rains in British Columbia.
According to the operator, assessments of the storm’s impact are underway with a particular focus on Coldwater/Coquihalla.
According to the company, work was interrupted on some locations Sunday because of high water accumulations or lack access.
The company had stated Friday that they were working to resume the oil pipeline’s reduced capacity.
