ZURICH, (Reuters) – The Omicron variant COVID-19 was detected in Switzerland on Sunday. This came after the country increased its restrictions for entry to control its spread.

According to the Federal Office for Public Health on Twitter, this case involves a South African national who has returned to Switzerland around one week ago.

It said that testing will help clarify the situation over the next few days.

Switzerland ordered 19 foreign nationals to present negative tests on board a flight. They must also be quarantined for 10 days upon arrival.

This list also includes Australia, Denmark and Britain as well as South Africa, Israel, Czech Republic, South Africa, South Africa, South Africa, and the Czech Republic.

The government’s pandemic response strategy was supported by more than expected Swiss voters in Sunday’s referendum. It also opened up the doors to extraordinary measures that will continue to combat the increasing number of COVID-19 related cases.

A law that was passed in January to help people affected by COVID-19, and to lay the foundations for COVID-19 certificates proving COVID-19 recovery, vaccination or negative testing has been approved by 62.01%. They are required for entry to bars, restaurants, and some events.
