Lululemon filed a lawsuit Monday against Peloton in the Central District of California. It claimed it seeks an injunction to stop the infringement of its intellectual property rights. The company is asking for damages as well as other monetary relief.

Peloton maintained its ability to discern Lululemon’s merchandise from its own. Peloton also stated that Lululemon clothing designs were too obvious to warrant patent protection.

Peloton’s massive marketing campaign for its clothing line earlier this year led to the dispute between these two companies. Since years, Peloton has sold clothing from such brands as Nike and Lululemon, with its “P” logo tacked on. However, it decided recently to make its own sports bras, workout tanks and leggings.

Lululemon claimed that Peloton infringed six of its patent designs.

CNBC reached out to Peloton for clarification but they did not respond immediately.

Lululemon’s lawyers had sent Peloton a letter earlier in the month warning them that they would sue Peloton if it stopped selling their clothes.
