White House ‘gifts from the heart’ holiday decorations highlight unity, service -Breaking

WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The White House unveiled Monday its holiday decorations for 2021 based on the theme of “Gifts from the Heart.” It highlighted the things that unite humanity in a period of intense political division and segregation caused by the COVID-19 epidemic.

According to the White House, faith, community and family were all gifts that it was showing.

“As we celebrate our first holiday season in the White House, we are inspired by the Americans we have met across the country, time and again reminding us that our differences are precious and our similarities infinite,” first lady Jill Biden and President Joe Biden wrote in the 2021 White House holiday guide https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Holiday-Tourbook-2021.pdf.

One tree contains photos of former president families (Democrats and Republicans), including those from the Obamas Bushes Reagans Carters and Trumps. To honor the sacrifices of military personnel, another is covered in gold stars.

In the 2020 election, President Biden defeated Republican ex-President Donald Trump. Trump falsely claimed that the election result was fraudulent and encouraged a group loyalists march on Washington, D.C., after the Jan. 6 rally. The State Dining room features a gingerbread White House, which honors frontline workers. It is surrounded by eight community buildings.

White House stated that the 2021 Christmas decorations included 41 Christmas trees, 6,000 feet ribbon and over 300 candles. There were more than 78,000 lights installed on trees, wreaths, and other decorations.
