BRUSSELS, (Reuters) – The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal stated Tuesday that his country will seek an additional International Monetary Fund loan program when the current one expires in June 2019. This signalled to investors that Ukraine is committed to reforms.

In an interview with Reuters, he stated that he was optimistic about one to two additional disbursements in 2022 under the extended IMF program.

Shmygal was in Brussels to discuss top European Union officials. However, he said he would talk about a continuation to the EU’s macro-financial assist programme. It would also be connected to the IMF.
