Under the pandemic, private aviation is flourishing.

Many private jet companies are facing a new problem because of the high interest. keeping up with demand.

VistaJet is a private airline that reported new member numbers for 2021’s first half were up 53% over 2020. Europe brought in the most new members (51%) during the period.

Gregg Brunson-Pitts is the founder of Advanced Aviation TeamA Virginia-based private plane broker. Many of them booked private jets after the pandemic, some for their first time.

“People have… come off of the sidelines,” said he. “It wasn’t just the wealthy people with means —governments were using them. Because they were used to transport supplies, our company was able to pick up quite quickly even after the shutdown.

Brunson Pitts, the White House’s Director of the Travel Office during the second term of President George W. Bush, admitted that charter jet pricing can’t be as transparent and straightforward as commercial flight. However, there are good reasons to do so.  

Unlike a commercial flight — where passengers are flying on the same plane at the same time on the same date — charter jets vary considerably by size and service (none vs. “VIP catering and flight attendants”), said Brunson-Pitts. He said that flexibility in travel dates is a factor which affects the prices due to increasing demand.  

A flight to Washington, D.C. for a family with four could cost anywhere between $10,000 and $50,000, depending on the customers’ preferences.

CNBC spoke to newly converted private flight attendants about the prices they paid when flying during the pandemic.

For $10,500, he flew from Tampa to Miami for Florida-based. Monarch Air Group charter service. 

“Aside from the time-savings, safety of me and my family as well my colleagues comes first,” he stated. It has been one the most important business and personal decisions that I have made.”

For his first flight with an Indonesian airline company, he paid $36,000 CeoJetset. He flew from Bali, Indonesia to Jakarta, its capital.

“As a person with high mobility … time efficiency is also the key factor,” he said.

If he wants to keep flying private after the pandemic, he says “Yes.”

He now flys with the same company. Jet ItHe said that the hourly rate is about $1,600. His first flight was a round trip from Boca Raton (Florida) to Teterboro (New Jersey).

Sadaka claimed that private jet travel removes “all the stress” from travel. Sadaka said he was not returning to the airport.

“I can reach my destination five minutes ahead of takeoff. A car is there, so I don’t have to worry if it gets cancelled,” he stated. “I am able to travel as my schedule allows, even when it is changed.”

He’s now flying along JSXThe Dallas-based company operates 30 seater aircraft in the United States. He paid $1,200 for round trip airfare from Dallas to Miami on his first flight. 

Miles stated that JSX doesn’t operate a charter service but that he prefers its ‘hop-on’ jet service. They have pre-set flights to take me to specific destinations and they are more affordable.

Miles says that the greatest perk is “getting my money back.”

He said, “I don’t need to get to the private hanger before 20-30 minutes before departure.” The JSX parking garage is only 20 meters from the facility. I am able to save hours, so I can concentrate on my company’s growth, liquidity, profitability, and growth.
