U.S. Majority Leader Schumer says Senate will pass debt limit increase ‘soon’ -Breaking

WASHINGTON (Reuters] – U.S. Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer indicated on Tuesday that he was looking forward to passing US debt limit increases “soon” following a conversation with Mitch McConnell, Republican Senate Minority Leader.

Schumer, speaking on Tuesday from the Senate’s floor, stated that “The Senate must act to ensure that the United States does NOT default on its sovereign loans for the very first time in their history.”

“I had a great conversation about this topic with the Republican leader and I expect to continue these talks…I look forward towards a bipartisan solution for addressing the debt limit.”
