(Reuters) – The U.S. appeals court split on Tuesday restored California’s ban against high-capacity magazines. It called it a reasonable way to support the state’s efforts to decrease gun violence and mass shootings.

With 7 to 4, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals denied gun rights activists’ claims that the ban was in violation of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution or that it was unconstitutional.
