We were just celebrating new highs in stocks (SPY), but Omicron’s news caused a major setback. We are all pondering the impact of this news on stocks and the best trade plan in the coming days and weeks. That is the focus of this week’s market commentary below.This is an updated version of my weekly market commentary, courtesy the Reitmeister Total Return newsletter.

The new Omicron version of Coronavirus comes back just as you are starting to think that the virus will fade away into the distance. Indeed news of this mutation led to a “sell first, ask questions later” reaction on Friday…then a bounce…then another nasty sell off today.

What is the reason for this? What’s next?
