Alec Baldwin to give his account of fatal ‘Rust’ shooting -Breaking

LOS ANGELES, (Reuters) – Alec Baldwin will broadcast his first public account about the shooting that took place on set of “Rust”. This is six weeks after a firearm he used during a rehearsal exploded, killing a cinematographer.
Baldwin’s interview was described by George Stephanopoulos of ABC Television as extremely raw and in-depth. ABC will air the interview about Thursday’s tragedy on Thursday evening. New Mexico authorities are still investigating the matter.
Baldwin claimed that he never pulled the trigger. This opens the possibility for the Colt revolver to have accidentally gone off.
Baldwin stated that “I wouldn’t point a weapon at anybody and pull the trigger at them”, according to the excerpt.
Santa Fe Sheriff’s Department interviewed Baldwin shortly after the incident and hasn’t disclosed his comments.
Baldwin is most well-known as the egotistical executive of a TV channel on “30 Rock” and has kept a low profile following the October 21 Bonanza Creek Ranch accident (NYSE:). Star and producer of the Western low-budget Western, he was also the star.
Halyna Hutchins the cinematographer was killed, and Joel Souza, director was injured when Baldwin fired a live shot from a gun that Baldwin told him was safe.
It has not been reported that criminal charges were filed. Producers of the film have stated that they are conducting an internal investigation.
Santa Fe officials are trying to determine how an actual live bullet (rather than a random blank) got into the gun. Also, how it was possible for other live rounds to get onto the film set. On Wednesday, court papers showed that the authorities had recovered some suspect live ammunition from a local source of weapons and props for movies.
Baldwin took a photo of himself in pain after the shooting. He stated in a statement that Hutchins’ wife and son were his heartbreak.
On a October roadside, he spoke briefly to paparazzi and called the episode a “one-in-a trillion” incident.
Two crew members filed civil lawsuits against Baldwin and the producers for negligence and poor safety protocol.
