AfroDroids Non Fungible Tokens, (NFTs),: Telling The African Story To the World

Market for Non-fungible tokens has witnessed unprecedented growth since 2021. CNBC reported that NFT trading volumes jumped to $10 billion in the third quarter 2021. It is this reason that NFTs have been in high demand recently. NFT projects have increased in number, with some being sold for multi-millions of dollars.

These NFTs are making headlines due to their great market acceptance and use cases. Owo Amietie created the AfroDroids NFTs. Anietie, a legendary Nigerian Afrofuturism 3D artist is one of the most prominent examples. Afrofuturism, a historical cultural philosophy that studies science and culture and the African Diaspora’s evolving intersection of technology and African Diaspora cultures is called “cultural philosophy of science and history”.

Overview of AfroDroids Non Fungible Tokens

AfroDroids describes a mixed race of Droids, humans and robots that Anietie created in the Afrofuturist art. The artist claims that these creatures will be living on Earth by 3045. AfroDroids was also created by a secret group of scientists known as “The W.A.” When these scientists saw what the world had become in the year 3000, they created these Droids. These robots are imbued in the consciousness of humans. These Droids are designed to change the world.

The earth has been almost completely ravaged by humans. We have not done enough to reduce the threat posed by global warming. We are constantly making technological breakthroughs but evolution is still around the corner. AfroDroids NFT dropped on September 1, 2021 and all were sold out in 11 minutes.

Owo Anietie, who worked with Esther Eze on the creation of his first Droids collection was successful. It was created April 12, 2021. He only created seven of these Droids at the time. The seven AfroDroid 17s were his names. They were beautiful in design, but they had little utility. Anietie desired a mix of beauty and utility. Every collector should feel like their AfroDroid has been created just for them.

Just like Elon Musk proposed humans have a microchip in their brain so robots won’t have to outsmart us, Anietie created AfroDroids with human consciousness to populate and rule the world to make it a better place. The AfroDroids NFTs currently have more than 12,100 pieces. The 12,117 AfroDroids NFTs are all currently available for purchase on OpenSea’s secondary market.

Give Back to The Society

AfroDroids’ creators donated 20% of their NFT sales in an effort to make the world better. The Dream Nurture Foundation is the parent organization of this academy. It is non-profit Academy. The academy provides leadership and educational opportunities for young girls through dance, drama, music, arts and other creative activities.

More About the Artist

Owo Anietie began his professional career in traditional art as an artist in 2009. He was drawing portraits and other commissions. Anietie shifted to motion design and animation in 2012; digital illustration was his next step. The AfroDroids NFTs all pay tribute to Anietie’s African heritage as shown in his native traits such as earrings and beads. He envisions creating an art piece each day over the next 50 years.

Conclusion

AfroDroids have made the African story, as well as the entire world’s story, possible. And there are more stories to be told. We will not be around to see the AfroDroids rule the Earth in 3045, so we won’t know. But one thing is certain: The earth has already been plucked and there are no plans to restore it.
