IMF says chief economist Gopinath to replace Okamoto as no. 2 official -Breaking

WASHINGTON (Reuters] – In early 2022, the International Monetary Fund will remove Geoffrey Okamoto as First Deputy Managing Director. Gita Guppinath is the IMF chief economist.

Gopinath, who was originally scheduled to leave IMF to head to Harvard University in January had instead decided to continue in wide-ranging policy roles under Kristalina Georgieva (Managing Director of IMF).
