WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The U.S. Senate confirmed C.B. U.S. Rep. on the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization ICAO (United Nations air safety organization): “Sully” Sullenberger

Sullenberger was a famed commercial pilot who successfully landed an Airbus A320 on New York’s Hudson River in 2009. He had hit a flock (NYSE:) of geese, resulting in the famous “Miracle on the Hudson” flight.

He stated that Belarus should temporarily be barred from the council’s voting in September as a result of Ryanair’s May diverting flight.
