(Reuters] – Intercontinental Exchange appointed Lynn Martin (who runs Fixed Income and Data Services) as its next president.

Martin will succeed Stacey Cunningham who was the NYSE’s first female president. Cunningham will also join the NYSE’s board of directors. Intercontinental Exchange which is the owner of the NYSE released a press release.

Sharon Bowen is a finance and securities lawyer and ICE board member. She will also be the next Chair of the NYSE.

The NYSE’s leadership changes come as it faces increased competition from Nasdaq Inc. Nasdaq raised $191billion through IPOs between 2021 and 2023, almost twice the amount raised by the NYSE. Data from Dealogic shows that.

Cunningham was appointed chief operating officer of NYSE in June 2015. He managed cash equities markets and relationship management.
