TAIPEI (Reuters – Taiwan’s exports are likely to rise for a 17th consecutive November according to a Reuters poll. The increase was due in part to sustained demand of chips and technology. It also comes ahead the important end-of-the-year holiday shopping period.

Taiwan, which is an international hub for chip manufacturing and key supplier for Apple Inc (NASDAQ):, is Asia’s largest exporter of technology products. The trade data serves as an indicator of the global demand for these gadgets.

According to Reuters, exports were up 23.3% compared with a year ago, according to a poll of 20 analysts. This is slightly less than the 24.6% increase in October.

Forecasts for exports fluctuated widely between an increase of 10% and 33% due to uncertainty over global economic recovery, and continuing supply chain disruptions caused the COVID-19 pandemic.

The consumer price index (CPI), which was up 2.5% in October compared to a rise of 2.58% in October, is also expected to increase.

On Tuesday, both the inflation and trade data will be available.
