LONDON, (Reuters) – Growth in Britain’s construction sector accelerated in November following a slowdown due to global supply chain issues and labour shortages. However, soaring inflation pressures have abated, according to a Monday survey.

CIPS UK Construction Purchasing Management Index (PMI) grew to 55.5 from 54.6 last October.

The rise of commercial building was a sign that the recovery in the economy has led to more projects. Infrastructure work and new construction also contributed to the slight decrease in house-building.

An indicator of input costs dropped to a low of seven months.

PMI all-sector – which is the combined reading from November’s services, construction and manufacturing surveys – fell to 57.4 in October, which was its highest level since July.
