ECB watching rising credit risk, soured loans: Enria -Breaking

FRANKFURT, (Reuters) – The pandemic-related support measures for the Eurozone banks are being withdrawn. This raises credit risk, Andrea Enria, supervisor of European Central Bank, said Tuesday.

Enria stated that “many early indicators point towards potential asset quality degradation in the future” in a blog posting, as well as his supervisory priorities for this year.

“The non-performing loan rates in vulnerable sectors have started to increase,” he stated. “This is most evident in accommodations and food services as well the travel-related and air transport sectors.
