Blaine Luetkemeyer (a Missouri House Representative) revisited the topic of large companies having control over huge swathes of the internet. He expressed concern about the potential for crypto-space encroachment.

Luetkemeyer addressed a Wednesday hearing on digital asset with the House Committee on Financial Services. Adressed Bitfury CEO and former acting Comptroller of the Currency Brian Brooks in saying that major tech firms including Instagram, Facebook (NASDAQ:) — now Meta — and Twitter (NYSE:) “control people on their platforms.” Luetkemeyer asked whether this level of control could extend to undue influence for the rollout of a digital dollar.
