Fox News Christmas tree in New York City set ablaze, man arrested -Breaking

(Reuters) – A suspect was taken into custody for allegedly setting fire to a Christmas tree 50 feet tall outside Fox News Headquarters in Midtown Manhattan.

Fox News security officers called police just after midnight to report that a man was climbing the tree at Sixth Avenue, 48th Street. Police said.

The officers found a 49 year old male running from the tree, and they arrested him. He was charged with arson, disorderly conduct, and trespassing.

The fire was put out by firefighters. The incident resulted in no injuries.

It was embellished with 10,000 glass ornaments as well as 100,000 lights. According to the network, it took 21 hours for workers to put together.
