WASHINGTON (Reuters] – On Friday, the U.S. House of Representatives probe into Jan. 6 Capitol riot claimed that six subpoenas were issued to obtain additional information. These included top aides of former President Donald Trump.

The House of Representatives Select Committee subpoenaed Brian Jack, Trump’s White House Political Director; Max Miller (a former Special Assistant to Trump who is now running for an Ohio House seat), and Bobby Peede (ex-director of White House Advance Staff which prepared events in preparation for Trump’s Arrival).

Jack was hired by Kevin McCarthy as House Republican Leader to manage his congressional campaign.

“Some of our witnesses today appear to have helped to organize the rallies Jan. 5th/6th. Some appeared to be in direct communication with President Bush regarding the Ellipse rally immediately prior to the attack on U.S. Capitol,” Rep. Bennie Thompson, chairman of the committee, stated in a statement.

A subpoena was also issued by the committee to Brian Lewis who is a Trump supporter. It also included Ed Martin who is a well-known figure in Missouri Republican politics and who backed Trump’s campaign. Kim Fletcher runs Moms for America which held a rally at the Capitol on Jan. 5.

In its probe of the attacks by Republican supporters on the ex-president, the committee issued over 50 subpoenas to more than 275 witnesses. Congress also met to officially certify Joe Biden’s November 2020 defeat.
