This is the best genre to create a metaverse, where all players have a common goal.

My Neighbor Alice is free-to-play, although to start your journey, you’ll need to purchase a plot of land, which is, itself, an NFT. You can also earn ALICE tokens through participating in in-game competitions and tournaments.

I tried not to include too many virtual pet games in this list, not because I don’t like the genre itself, on the contrary, the Pokémon series is one of my favourites on the Nintendo consoles, along with Mario and Zelda series.

Axie Inifnity holds the top spot in the sun. Blockchain developers will often look for new genres. 2021 was also the year for crypto virtual pets. It is likely that 2022 will be a year for something else.

Grasshopper Farm, on the other hand is leveling up the game. First of all, it’s connected to the Enjin ecosystem, therefore, the game can work as an addition to other existing games in that multiverse, due to the fact that all NFTs in the ecosystem are suitable for each of the available games, provided the developers offer such support).

Secondly, the game is available to play in Telegram, which means it’s as easy to play as it is to have a conversation in messenger. This makes it easier for players to concentrate on the game and still receive Enjin coin awards.

Gala Games’ New Projects: Spider Tanks and Mirandus
Because they are equally likely to experience a surge, I combined them into one. Additionally, the Gala Games’ ecosystem connects them. This year, Gala nodes and the GALA token were a huge hit in the crypto-gaming world.

Illuvium
The fully-fledged adventure, open-world RPG Illuvium is in development. The game had a high visibility announcement this year and in a timespan of only half a year, the token’s price jumped from $50 to $1.7K. I believe this is one of the most impressive results in crypto gaming. It will be possible to “jump on the train” for Illuvium during the second quarter of 2022.

Illuvium has all the potential makings to become one of the best Pokémon-esque games on the blockchain.
