(Reuters) – U.S. President Joe Biden, and U.S. As the White House attempts to resolve stubborn disagreements around the nearly $2 trillion spending plan aimed at restructuring the country’s economy, Senator Joe Manchin will likely speak to the White House by phone as early as Monday.

Charles Schumer from New York is Senate Majority leader. Although he has indicated that he would like to pass the bill by Christmas Eve, Democratic lawmakers remain at odds about the scope and size of the building bill.

Manchin, an important moderate swing vote, was the main obstacle. He repeatedly refused to endorse the measure, and instead called for Democrats to slow down the process to address inflation issues.

Manchin stated Monday to reporters that he would talk with Biden via phone late in the day. He reiterated his concerns regarding the bill and whether or not it would increase the deficit of the country and impact inflation.

Biden’s latest effort to reach out to Capitol Hill is this meeting. He hopes that it will help save the largest and most important component of his economic agenda, which has been hampered by infighting and delays.

Democrats in the narrowly divided Senate cannot adopt their roughly $2 trillion measure without Manchin’s supportive vote.
