FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Andy Beshear stated Monday that over 60 deaths were confirmed in Kentucky and that the costs of damage caused by tornadoes that struck the region this weekend are still unknown.

Beshear said that while he didn’t yet have an estimate of damages but that they are in the hundreds or millions of dollars, during Monday’s storm update to CNBC.

“Again, regardless of the price. Our federal partners are always there to support us, I am sure. He said that we will not spare any expense for the state.”

Beshear said, “Leaders from many corporations including” AmazonAndy Jassy is the CEO. Many people reached out to Jassy throughout the weekend to ask for donations. The tornado, which was part of the devastating wave, struck an Amazon Distribution Center in Edwardsville (Illinois), about 200 miles north-east of certain of the most severely affected areas of Kentucky. Thursday night, late Friday swarm of at least 30 tornadoes left a path of destruction across several states, hitting Kentucky the hardest. Four states were ravaged by a twister that cut a route of at least 200 miles, making it one of the most destructive tornadoes to hit the United States.

Kentucky officials said that the storm was the most severe and destructive in Kentucky’s recent history, and it would take several years for communities to recover.

Beshear, a Democrat said Monday that there had been 64 deaths confirmed in Kentucky. She also stated that 105 persons are still missing. Around 300 National Guardsmen assist with debris and rescue operations.

Kentucky’s homes without power are at least 28,000.

Beshear stated, “I am not doing so well right now and I don’t know how many are,” We’ll keep moving forward and push on, just like before.
