Japan stocks higher at close of trade; Nikkei 225 up 0.71% -Breaking

Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

Tokyo closed with a gain of 0.71%.

These were the best performers of the session Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (T:) climbed 4.97%, or 340.0 point to trade at 7180.0 after the close. Meanwhile, NTN Corp. T: added 2.64%, or 6.0 points, to reach 233.0 Fast Retailing Co., Ltd. T: was at 69760.0, up 2.59% (1760.0) in late trade.

These were the worst performers of the session. Recruit Holdings Co Ltd, (T:) dropped 3.66% or 253.0 to trade at $6658.0 after the close. GS Yuasa Corp. T: fell 2.92%, or 73.0 point to close at 2428.0. Z Holdings Corp was down 2.73% or 19.5 to 695.0.

The Tokyo Stock Exchange saw falling stocks surpass advancing stocks by 2055-1475, and ended unchanged.

The implied volatility index of Nikkei’s 225 options was unchanged at 0% to 20%.

Crude oil rose 1.03% to $72.41/barrel for January delivery. Brent oil rose 0.81 or 1.08% to $75.96 per barrel in commodity trading. The February Gold Futures contract rose 0.09 or 1.65 to $1786.45 an ounce.

USD/JPY increased 0.15% at 113.56 while EUR/JPY dropped 0.04% at 128.18.

US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.9% at 96.255
