REUTERS/Tingshu WangBRUSSELS (Reuters), – In the coming days, no agreement will be reached by the European Union over a diplomatic ban on the 2022 Olympic Games of China. The statement was made Monday by Jean Asselborn, Luxembourg’s Foreign Minister. It came ahead of talks among EU foreign ministers.
Asselborn said to reporters, “You also know that we won’t find a solution concerning the Olympic Games today and this week.” Asselborn urged European politicians not to ignore human rights concerns in China and instead called on European politicians.
He stated, “I feel that if we speak up on the ground this will bring more benefit than going into hiding for politicians.”
