Federal judge tosses Trump lawsuit to block income taxes from being released to Congress

WASHINGTON — A federal judge late Tuesday threw out former President Donald Trump’s lawsuit seeking to block a House committee from getting his tax returns.
Trevor McFadden from the U.S. District court said Trump’s legal efforts to stop the handover were against the law.
A long list of Supreme Court cases calls for great deference in two congressional inquiries that are facially legitimate. McFadden stated that even the extra solicitude given to former presidents doesn’t alter the outcome.
However, the judge temporarily halted the impact of his ruling for fourteen days so that Trump’s legal team could appeal.
Trump’s spokesperson didn’t immediately reply to my request for comment.
