The committee stated that Meadows had given over thousands of records. However, they reversed course and refused to cooperate. Trump claimed Meadows’ testimony was protected under executive privilege.

“When the records raise questions — as these most certainly do — you have to come in and answer those questions,” select committee chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., said before the vote in a public meeting Monday evening.

“And then, when it was his turn to obey the law, come into, and give evidence on these questions, he turned around and said that we should pound sand. Thompson stated that he didn’t show up.

Meadows’ records show that there is “no doubt,” that the White House was aware of the violence at Capitol during the chaos, Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) stated in the meeting.

Rep. Adam Schiff of California read out several panicked messages pro Trump Fox News host, lawmakers, and Meadows from their own children during the riot.

“Mark. The president must tell the Capitol people to go home. This is very hurtful for us all. Cheney claimed that he is ruining his legacy, and cited a Fox host Laura Ingraham’s text.

Meadows refused to attend his scheduled deposition last Wednesday and sued Nancy Pelosi, D.Calif. House Speaker, and the committee, asking for the invalidation of two subpoenas.
