WASHINGTON (Reuters] During the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol, former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows received a number of text messages from conservative-leaning media members urging him persuade the then-President Donald Trump and his supporters to leave.

The House of Representatives Select Committee that investigated the attack made the following text public. On Tuesday, the full House will decide whether Meadows should be charged with contempt of Congress for failing to cooperate in this investigation.

Here are some quotes taken from text Meadows gave to the committee. These were read out by Liz Cheney, Republican Representative during a hearing of the committee.

FOX HOST LAURA INRAHAM

“’Mark, the president needs to tell people in the Capitol to go home. This is very hurtful for us all. “He is ruining his legacy.”

FOX FOSTER BRIAN KilmeADE

“’Please get him on TV. “Destroy everything that you’ve accomplished.”

FOX HOSTS SEAN HANNITY

“Can he make an announcement?” You should ask people to get out of the Capitol.

DONALD TRUMP JR.

“‘He needs to condemn this shit immediately. It isn’t enough to tweet the Capitol Police.

MARK MEADOWS IN REPONSE to TRUMP JR.

“I am pushing for it. I’m in agreement.
